The Blog Begins: Enochs High Forensic Biotech Program

This week I have been attending training courtesy of the Bio-Link Organization. Bio-Link has been there for the Enochs High School Forensic Biotech Program now since before Enochs High opened some five years ago.

Periodically, teachers in our program attend refresher courses to keep their skills current. This summer, I am attending the Bio-Link training to enhance my biotech skills, then I will be joined by Bernadette Galvan where we will be taking forensic training at the San Jose Crime lab. Later on I will take a second round of forensic science workshops at American River College.

One of our students, Drew Davis was a guest presenter at the annual TASTES teacher training held at Enochs High. His work was on DNA extraction from plants, and was well recieved. We expect Drew to join several other students led by EHS senior Matt Robertson in late July to present one of our labs at the state fair held at Cal Expo in Sacramento. Look for them in the exhibit buildings.
