Quality Control/Quality Assurance

Quality control (testing finished products) and quality assurance  (checking quality during production) both serve essential roles in industrial biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturing. This certificate would prepare the student for a job as a quality control or quality assurance technician, responsible for setting up periodic testing and analysis during both the research and development and the manufacturing processes of biomolecules, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices.

Training in different programs may have different emphasis depending if the institution is geared toward medical device, pharmaceutical, or biomolecule manufacturing.  While a prior degree is not required, competence is college level English, math, and computer science is generally required before or in conjunction with this certificate.

Good Manufacturing and Good Laboratory Processes (GMP/GLP)
