Bioinformatics (BITC 2350) at Austin Community College
Austin Community College will be offering a semester long, on-line course in bioinformatics Fall semester 2010.
Bioinformatics (BITC 2350) introduces current topics in bioinformatics and computational biology. The course discusses methods for high-throughput data collection, storing, and accessing biological data. Covers programs and algorithms used to analyze data.
The course emphasizes the following topics: working with public databases, molecular structures, nucleic acid and amino acid sequences, and data from gene expression analyses such as microarrays and next generation DNA sequencing.
