HCC is offering a Biotechnology Summer Institute for local high school students.
High school students 16 years and older are invited to join us each summer for our Biotechnology Summer Institute. The 2011 BSI will offer a very unique learning opportunity for students who are interested in advancing their education in a field related to science, healthcare, or biotechnology. This competitive program will offer 20 select students a chance to earn 7 college credits during the 8-week summer institute (Applications for the program are no longer being accepted). The summer institute will be held on the campus of HCC between June 10, 2011 and August 4, 2011.

Hagerstown Community College is proud to offer its third annual Summer Biotechnology Institute for high school teachers. The 2011 focus will be Discovery Research. The Institute offers an opportunity for teachers to design experiments and explore techniques in biotechnology. The Institute is hands-on with a focus on implementing biotechnology into high school science curricula. Instructors will be Dr. Cindy Dove and Dr. Alicia Manfre from the HCC Mathematics and Science Division and the institute will be heldon the campus of HCC between June 20, 2011 and July 1, 2011.
