Bay Area Biotechnology Education Consortium: A Model Organization for Inspiring and Supporting High School Biotechnology Teachers
The Bay Area Biotechnology Education Consortium combines the efforts of Bio-Link, community college biotech programs, companies (Amgen, Life Technologies, Johnson & Johnson, LifeScan, and Roche), with local high school partnerships (Gene Connection, SF-BASE, East Bay Biotechnology Education Program, PROBE, and the Santa Clara County Biotechnology Education Partnership) into a powerful resource for supporting science education. This report describes the BABEC organization, what it is does, how it works and what it provides and presents testimonials from various partners.
