Bio-Link Video Contest! - Deadline extended

It's time to get creative!

Lately, everywhere we go, people are playing the "Bad Project" YouTube video and commiserating with a poor grad student who has test tubes labeled in Thai and wants a paper in Cell.  We would like to see videos that have same kind of appeal covering the positive aspects of biotechnology technician careers.

And, so we are announcing the first ever:

Bio-Link Video Contest for Students and Alumni

Here's your chance to produce a short video about a biotechnology intern or program graduate and compete for prizes.

There are prizes!!

First prize:  $500

Second prize:  $200

Third prize:  $50

What do you have to do to win?

Produce a novel video featuring a student or graduate from a community or technical college biotechnology program.

The video must be:

  • 3 minutes or less in length
  • must showcase bioscience education that was obtained in a two-year community or technical college
  • about a person working in a biotechnology job or internship who received their education and skills in a bioscience program at a two-year community or technical college

To be eligible, you must be:

  • a U.S. citizen or legal resident
  • a student in a 2 year community or technical college program or a graduate of a 2 year college program

Videos will be judged on the basis of originality, broad appeal, visual interest, and the ability to capture the spirit of a biotechnology career and convey the value of educational programs at a 2 year college.
