Responsibilities: |
Overview:The Plant Sciences research department of J. R. Simplot Company seeks a Laboratory Technician to support projects in molecular biology. The position will initially be temporary (6 months) but may be converted into a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:The successful candidate must provide effective and consistent support in:- Media preparation- Stock maintenance- Isolating DNA from bacteria and plants- Characterizing DNA using restriction enzymes, PCR, simple biochemical assays- Supporting the development of new vectors for transformation

Qualifications: |
Skill/Experience Requirements:
BS degree in Plant Biology or Biochemistry - Basic computer skills and some laboratory management including dishwashing and inventory management- Good communication and organization skills- Detail-oriented and an interest in learning new methods are essential
