Essential Functions (Job Duties):
The Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department of Wayne State University (WSU) is soliciting applications to fill a new Assistant/Associate Professor position in Biomedical Engineering. This will be a tenure-track appointment.
The BME Department has graduate programs in all of the areas listed below and has an annual research expenditure of over $4.8 million. Enrollment consists of 50 PhD students and 150 MS students. The Department is housed jointly in the College of Engineering and the School of Medicine; research opportunities are available in both human and animal studies with faculty in both Colleges. Candidates with experience teaching undergraduate BME design and with research expertise in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
Unique Duties:
Trauma biomechanics related to blast overpressure Musculoskeletal biomechanics Biomedical imaging Tissue mechanics Cellular and molecular bioengineering Neurophysiology of pain Computational modeling in bioengineering

Qualifications: |
Candidates must have a PhD in BME, or in a related engineering or biological science field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Post-doctoral experience of two or more years is preferred.
