Starting a two-year Community College Biotechnology Technician Program
Last updated: April 17, 2006

Bio-Link is committed to assisting new Biotechnology Technician programs. Here is a collection of general resources for educators starting a program in their two-year colleges. For specific information about some of the ongoing programs contact Dr. Jeanette Mowery (jmowery@matcmadison.edu) or Dr. Lisa Seidman (lseidman@matcmadison.edu), both of Madison Area Technical College in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Northern California Biotechnology Center (NCBC) has an excellent website outlining the essential steps for starting a new program, called "Starting a Community College Biotechnology Program."

Questions and answers related to starting up a new biotechnology program, called "Experiences at Madison Area Technical College," are compiled by Dr. Joy McMillan, Madison Area Technical College in Madison, Wisconsin.

Here is a sample questionnaire used to determine the needs of the local industry prior to developing a new biotechnology program, called "Biotechnology Technician Program Proposal Questionnaire." It is written by Phyllis Williams of Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.
