- Set all control knobs to zero.
- Fully release balance (position 1).
- Line up zero line with pointer using zero-adjustment knob.
- Arrest balance (position 0).
- Place tare sheet/container on pan and partially release.
- Turn 10g knob until arrows appear on filling guide. Turn knob back one step. Repeat with 1g knob.
- Fully release balance and allow optical scale to stop.
- Return scale to zero by turning optical tare knob clockwise.
- Set exact zero with zero-adjustment knob.
- Arrest balance.
- Place sample to be weighed on pan.
- Partially release balance.
- Repeat step #6.
- Arrest balance and pause.
- Repeat step #7.
- Turn digital counter knob counterclockwise until next lower scale division is in alignment with pointer.
- Read your result.
- Arrest balance.
