- Switch on the main power switch on back left of the centrifuge and close the lid.
- Set the lockswitch (upper right of control panel) to UNIV. The following default displays are illuminated:
Speed panel 2000 Time panel 2 Program panel 0 Temperature panel 20 LED Lid LED Start - Press the lid button to open the lid. Select a rotor, put it on the shaft, and fasten it by screwing the fixing screw onto the shaft using the supplied rotor spanner. The screw should be screwed in as far as it will go.
- To select operating parameters, use the blue parameter keys at the bottom right corner of each panel.
- Rotor - Press "Speed" parameter key three times, until indicator light for rotor is lit. Select rotor part number with the arrow key. The number that appears in the digital display should be the same as the number on the rotor.
- Bucket - Press "Speed" parameter key once more, until indicator light for bucket is lit. Select part number with the arrow key.
- Speed - Press "Speed" parameter key twice more, until indicator light for speed is lit. Select required speed with the numeric keys.
- RCF - Press "Speed" parameter key once more, until indicator light for "RZBg/RCFg" is lit. Select required value with the numeric keys.
- Specific Gravity of Medium - Press "Speed" parameter key three times. Select required value with the numeric keys.
- Time - Press "Time" parameter key once, until indicator light for time is lit. Select required time in hours and minutes with the numeric keys.
- Temperature - Press "Temperature" parameter key once, until indicator light for temperature is lit. Select required temperature in degrees Centigrade with the numeric keys. For temperatures below zero, use the SHIFT and minus sign keys simultaneously.
- Excess Temperature - Press "Temperature" parameter key once more. Select required temperature with the numeric keys. This must exceed the working temperature by at least 5 degrees.
- Acceleration - Press "Program" parameter key twice, until indicator light for acceleration is lit. Select required acceleration curve with the numeric keys (0-19).
- Deceleration - Press "Program" parameter key once more, until indicator light for deceleration is lit. Select required deceleration curve with the numeric keys (0-19).
- Program - To store the program, press "Program" parameter key once more and select program number with numeric keys (0-99). Press SHIFT and SAVE keys simultaneously.
- To access a previously stored program, press the "Program" parameter key and select the program number with the numeric keys. Press any parameter key to display the program's values.
- Place specimens in centrifuge and use blanks to balance if necessary.
- Close the lid, pressing down on each side separately until each front lock clicks, and start the program by pressing the START button.
- To alter a program during operation, press the SHIFT and COR. keys simultaneously. Change the parameters (and save new program if desired) as in the steps above. Press the START button.
- You may interrupt the centrifuge operation using the STOP or FASTSTOP keys.
- When finished, turn power switch to OFF.
