The InnovATEBIO Leadership Institute is a professional development program for community college and K-12 bioscience instructors who are interested in joining the next generation of leaders.
Senior industry, workforce and academic experts will work with participants on the subject of leadership, not from an academic perspective but from a workplace point of view. The program will stress strategizing, problem solving and leading people.
Due to the pandemic, the Leadership Institute will be held over a period of 12 months from June 7, 2021 to June 17, 2022.
June 2021, Part A will be virtual and consist of asynchronous lectures and dialogue. Two cohorts of twelve participants each, will complete the lecture series and then work in teams through problem case work given by our industry experts. During this period, the cohorts will problem solve via Zoom.
June 2022, Part B will be in person at the National Center for the Biotechnology Workforce at Forsyth Technical Community College, in Winston-Salem, NC, for a period of not less than three full days in June 2022. This portion of the Institute will include a debriefing, site visits, meeting the subject matter experts, and graduation. All Leadership Institute travel will be arranged by Forsyth Tech, with your plane ticket and hotel will paid for directly by the grant. Other travel expenses will be reimbursed according to grant policy.
